Introduction/Overview
Hosted by Berlin Creative, & Good Together Studios ~ Makeshift festival is a summit gathering of panellists and thought-leaderships reflecting on our state/s of governing institutions and repercussions of their current trajectory throughout the economy, environment, and community.
Held across three types of programs (Film, Conversations and Summit) between 4th to 18th September across several events - "Talking Shift" was one of the Conversation schedule(s) showcased here in this Case Study; taking place in Fremantle Civic Centre on Wednesday 16th of September 2026.
The opportunity
"Talking Shift", one of the programmed event(s) reflected on the aptly topic/s of present times ranging from the state(s) of our economy, citizenry wellbeing, alongside critique(s) and dialogue participations (from audience to Speakers) on the after effects and implications of present governing powers and institutions' structuring of sociological inequities.
I have attended the event with pre-emptive complimentary, free-of-charge ~ photography and videography conduct in-mind. Selectively to photograph and video capture the Speaker(s), the Host and the venue for marketing and/or socials deployment upon deliverables submission.
AI Automation Clause & Apparatus
Absolutely no AI / or automated workflow nor LLM assisted node based workflows were resorted. All complimentary manual colour corrections with Affinity® (Canva). Video editing and ingestion(s) with Final Cut Pro X.
(All used/seconds) Equipment
Sony® ZV-E10, SLF35F18 Lens (F/1.8 35MM fixed), SELP1650 (F/3.5-5.6 16-50MM zoom / Kit lens) with Golox TT350S speedlight. Video encoding: AVCHD 4K 25FPS and AVCHD 100FPS; the latter for slow motion storytelling opportunity for marketing team(s) peruses.
The Solution
Six and half gigabytes of submission(s) tailored individually for the recipients - as four individual Guest Speaker(s); and additionally for the host. An exclusive complementary offering as Showreel for Today.Design was also produced as shown below.
Settings & Deliverables
Set within the intimately designed space of Bibbool Council Chambers (Fremantle Public Library) ~ the challenges of low light shooting conditions were corrected at-post editing.
Flashlight / Speedlight capturing opportunities were strictly reserved only for and among the later / closing segments of the event.
Both unretouched as well as complimentary edited/corrected assets were submitted. I have also prepared and written an Intellectual Property Ownership Grant - to declare transfer of Ownership on these Assets.
For video captures - both 25fps and 100fps video were included for motion story-telling opportunities. (Video frame snapshots only shown here on the right).
